NSE's resilient and secure facilities give you peace of mind with the knowledge that you are locating your IT systems in the best facilities available.
Why colocation?
Colocation allows your company to have a highly reliable server environment without having to invest in building these facilities in-house. In a colocation environment the hosting provider owns and is responsible for the data centre, network and power, providing a stable operating environment for the applications. The customer's own IT organisation manages the applications and maintains full control over the application infrastructure and business process.
Monitoring and Security
The state of the art control centres in each building provide up to the minute information on all equipment within the facility. Each site is manned 24x7 by trained, uniformed security staff to prevent unauthorized access. CCTV, with time-lapse video recording both internally and externally, provides information to a security control centre on possible intrusion. Proximity cards control access within the facility. Access is monitored by security staff and historical data recorded to provide audit trails if required. All facilities operate computerised building management systems that monitor and remotely operate sensors covering electrical, mechanical, fire detection and water leakage systems.
Resiliency
Multiple mains electricity feeds are supported by a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) system with generator backup. All of the backup power systems are individually maintained and checked on a routine basis. Redundant N+1 equipment provides spare capacity to enable maintenance and repairs without interruption to customer services.
NSE supply electricity, air conditioning, fire suppression, backup power supply, multi-level security and internet connectivity. Additionally our Manchester colocation facility, with multiple links including guaranteed London independant internet connectivity, presents a viable alternative to London colocation for businesses located in the Midlands or the north of the UK as well as for businesses looking for DR sites.
