NSE’s Involvement
In 1999, NSE took over website development and hosting from the incumbent supplier. NSE was engaged by the JC for further website development using ASP and SQL server technology. For several years, TheJC.com website won the "Newspaper website of the year". During this time, NSE also created the MSFL football site (msfl.thejc.com) which administers the leagues, teams and matches of the football league run by the JC, plus a bulletin board to allow teams to communicate.Working with a partner company, NSE delivered the hosting infrastructure for a high performance archiving solution which enabled the JC to store and rapidly search 150 years of content. More recently, the website was ported to the open source content managed system, Drupal.
NSE provides support and a fully managed infrastructure to the JC becoming a one-stop-shop technology partner. NSE provides 100Meg Ethernet plus DSL backup internet connectivity to their central London offices plus infrastructure supporting the website comprising a number of dedicated high performance blades holding web servers, database servers and managed firewalls and load balancers. In conjunction with this, NSE also supplies Offsite Backup and EMC SAN space to store data and keep data protected.
